Regulations
Safety
The Children’s safety is of utmost importance to us. Every care is taken to ensure the personal safety of each individual. The staff to children ratio is better than what is stipulated by the Department of Preschool and Childcare. Further, our staff have had First Aid training.
Arrivals and Departures
The child’s arrival and departure must be signed in daily.
Please remember to advise the Director if there is to be an alternative arrangement to bring or take your child from the Montessori centre.
Only authorised persons should take custody of your child. Please ensure the custody of your child before and after the sessions as the Montessori Pre-school is not liable for before and after session care and custody.
Dress
It is desirable that children dress appropriately to suit changing weather patterns. Hats are essential in the warmer months. Spare clothes are necessary together with boots etc.
No thongs are permitted as per Health Department rules.
Emergencies
Matters relating to emergencies are discussed at the interview on admission. Parents are requested to authorise matters that need urgent care and attention as deemed necessary.
Allergies
Parents are asked to advise if their child is allergic to any food, drink, etc.
Snacks
Children are encouraged to eat fruit and drink milk or water for snacks. Each child is requested to bring a piece of fruit, or a suitable snack. It is generally noted that in winter, children prefer a biscuit or a sandwich to a piece of fruit.
Transport
Written request to the Director is required in the event that your child is to be transported to and from the pre-school by staff, friends or other parents.
